Penn College Fares Well at National SkillsUSA-VICA Conference

Three Pennsylvania College of Technology students placed and four others received honorable mentions at the SkillsUSA-VICA National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 27 in Kansas City, Mo.
SkillsUSA-VICA is a national organization serving 250,000 high-school and college students and professional members in training programs for technical occupations. The Penn College competitors reached the national competition by winning their events at the Pennsylvania SkillsUSA-VICA conference in April.
The Penn College winners are: Mark A. Kuhns, Millmont, Diesel Technology, first place; Joshua W. Hunsberger, Pottstown, Technical Drafting, third place; and Jennifer R. Brinkley, Worthington, Extemporaneous Speaking, third place.
Honorable mentions went to: Michael A. Bigelow, Altoona, Technical-Related Math; William J. Frick, Westline, Precision Machining; Bruce A. Stephens, Curwensville, Electronics Technology; and Christopher C. Clugston, Slatington, Electronics Applications.
Other Penn College students competing at the national conference were: James N. Colton, Canton, Welding; and Ryan Garner, Spring City, Collision Repair.
Faculty advisers for the Penn College SkillsUSA-VICA student competitors are Edward L. Roadarmel, assistant professor of drafting/CAD technology; and Dale J. Kissinger Jr., instructor of HVAC technology/plumbing and heating.
