Finding a career you love is one of the most important things in life. Jalen will tell you that without hesitation. After just one job shadowing experience, she was certain healthcare was her calling. Jalen began taking general education courses at another school and recently transferred to Penn College where she's thrilled to get hands-on experience in the lab and prepare for her future in radiography.
Q&A with Jalen
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE RADIOGRAPHY?
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST?
I am very excited to start the radiography program and to experience so many new things in my life. I am overjoyed at this opportunity to meet new people and have a new perspective.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO DO AFTER GRADUATION?
I plan to further my education either by continuing on to a bachelor's degree or earning certifications to specify what exactly I will do in radiography (i.e. Cardiology or Sonography). If not, then I wish to work in a hospital where I can work with students and patients alike.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TRANSFER TO PENN COLLEGE?
The previous college I was at did not have the health science degree I wanted. So I made a plan and did my general education credits there and transferred to Penn College where I could graduate with the degree I wanted.
WHAT WAS MOST HELPFUL ABOUT THE TRANSFER PROCESS?
My transfer admissions counselor was such a big help for me. He made sure that I knew what was going on, discussed any requirements that I needed and helped talk me through processes to ensure my enrollment at Penn College. When I had any questions at all, Penn College was there and willing to help me in any way I needed.
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THOSE CONSIDERING A TRANSFER?
Please do not be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to. Your education is the most important thing and anything you need answered will be if you call/email and ask.
