From scholarships to global experiences to intercollegiate athletics, such assistance makes life-changing opportunities possible for the college’s “tomorrow makers” – and they are grateful.
New Scholarships
In 2019-20, the Penn College Foundation awarded 498 scholarships to 462 students, totaling $917,270. Eleven new scholarships were established through Penn College and the foundation.
ConCreate Design Scholarship
ConCreate Design Scholarship was established to benefit students who are members of the ConCreate Design Club or who are enrolled in concrete science technology.
Rick Taylor Memorial Scholarship
Rick Taylor Memorial Scholarship was established by Earthborne Inc. to benefit students from Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware and Philadelphia counties who are studying diesel technology or heavy construction equipment technology: technician emphasis, with first preference for employees or interns of Earthborne Inc.
John and Karen Blaschak Family Scholarship
John and Karen Blaschak Family Scholarship was established by the Blaschaks to support students from Schuylkill County studying forest technology or heavy construction equipment technology.
Global Learning Fund
Global Learning Fund was established by Elliott and Carolyn Strickland to benefit students who are enrolled in global experience courses.
Silvene Bracalente Memorial Scholarship
Silvene Bracalente Memorial Scholarship was established by the Silvene Bracelente Memorial Foundation to support students from Bucks, Montgomery and Lehigh counties who are studying engineering design technology or engineering CAD technology.
Kathleen Reidy Thomas Memorial Scholarship
Kathleen Reidy Thomas Memorial Scholarship was established by her family to benefit nontraditional female students who are seeking their first postsecondary degree.
Pneu-Dart Inc. Scholarship
Pneu-Dart Inc. Scholarship was established to support students from Lycoming and Sullivan counties who were in the top third of their high school class and are studying toward various engineering and manufacturing degrees.
Caliber Collision Scholarship
Caliber Collision Scholarship was established by Caliber Collision to support students from Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania or from Salem, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties in New Jersey who are enrolled in the collision repair major. Preference will be given to students who are employees or interns of Caliber Collison or whose immediate family members are employees.
AC/DC Scholarship
AC/DC Scholarship was established by Art Counterman to benefit students from the Altoona area who are enrolled in an electrical major.
Unlock Tomorrow Scholarship
Unlock Tomorrow Scholarship was established by Michael Reed to support students who are identified by Penn College faculty or faculty at their secondary school as students passionate about pursuing a hands-on, applied technology education.
Dr. and Mrs. Marshall D. Welch Jr. Immediate Impact Scholarship
Dr. and Mrs. Marshall D. Welch Jr. Immediate Impact Scholarship was established through the generosity of Mrs. Mary L. Welch and the late Dr. Marshall D. Welch to make a Penn College education a reality for incoming students.
