Before your first day

Following are things you can do to make your first day run smoothly.

Sign & Return Appointment Letter

Regular part-time and full-time employees will receive an appointment letter in the mail. Depending on your position, you may also receive the following:

  • Conditions of Employment
  • Background Check

Complete Employment Eligibility Verification

You will receive an email with instructions to complete your new hire paperwork online. Paperwork will need to be completed before your first day of work. In addition, on or before your first day, People & Culture will need to verify your identification and eligibility to work documentation in person. You can do this by brining your documents to People & Culture, Davie Jane Gilmour Center, Room 2011. This is a federal requirement for all employees and you will not be able to start work until this step is complete. Please see the list of acceptable documents.

If you are a remote employee or will be relocating to the area, you will receive additional instructions.

Obtain College ID

When you bring your identification and work authorization documents to People & Culture, you will be given an authorization form to obtain your Staff/Faculty Photo ID Card. After 48 hours of receiving your form, it may be taken to the Information Technology Services Staff located in the Lifelong Education Center (LEC) Room B1032 to get your Penn College ID card.

Purchasing Parking Permit

To purchase your parking permit visit the Penn College Police Office at Penn’s Loft, 1154 West Third Street. You will need your Penn College ID card to obtain a permit. You can pay by cash or check.

On Your First Day

We hope your first day goes smoothly. Following is a list of things to help you on your first day.
