Q&A with Friends In Action International
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?
We are able to provide professional services to mission agencies and individuals who have not been trained or exercised in the building trades. We do what we do best so they can focus on what they do best.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?
Our leadership is totally committed to the larger vision of getting the Gospel to the unreached people groups by partnering with other like-minded mission agencies. We see ourselves in singleness of purpose but utilizing our special talents and abilities.
HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?
We attended a Career Day that I saw advertised on the internet.
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?
Most of our workers are volunteers who give vacation time to assist us with work projects. Many Penn College students will enter the workforce, but will be able to give of their time and talents to join us with our larger vision. There may be some graduates who will choose missions as a career and we have opportunities for them to be involved in that capacity. Their training will enable them to step in with minimum orientation to our mission organization.
WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?
Skill level, work ethic, and leadership abilities are key. Those who have spiritual training, commitment, and purpose as well will understand that they are a part of God's plan for His Church.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?
Penn College's commitment to excellence will give the basis for an education/training that will prepare them to excel at whatever level they are willing to put forth the effort.
