Business Statistics
MTH157
Introduction of frequently applied statistical methods with an emphasis in business applications. Topics include graphical summaries; descriptive statistics; linear regression and correlation; elementary probability; binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions; time series analysis, and confidence intervals and tests of hypotheses for one and two samples. A graphing calculator and/or a statistical software package is used to assist in achieving course outcomes. Students satisfying a quantitative thinking core foundation requirement with MTH 157 cannot also use MTH 159 or MTH 161 to satisfy an additional quantitative thinking core foundation requirement.
