Study of stress and strain due to applied loads, combined stresses, thermal change, stress concentration due to discontinuities, engineering materials and properties, introductory indeterminate problems, internal shear and moment of beams, and shear and moment diagrams. Introduction to the methods of calculating beam deflection, determining strength of steel beams, columns and connections. Spring Only.
