Promoting Academic Success

PSS101

Overview of the transition from high school to college for students with disabilities. Topics include strategies for self-examination, potential challenges students with disabilities may face in college, and opportunities they can explore as they prepare for life after high school. Study includes individual and team-based exploration of topics related to transitioning from high school to college, including learning styles and active learning strategies, problem solving and decision making, disability law and assistive technologies, and the social and financial freedoms and responsibilities that come with college life. Coursework includes discussion, practice, and written assignments. Restricted to high school juniors and seniors.
