Continued study of the theory and practical applications introduced in prerequisite courses. Coursework includes the production of projects with multiple mating parts, using fundamental machine shop equipment such as manual and computer numerical control (CNC) vertical and horizontal milling machines, engine lathes, drill presses, and band saws. Emphasis on industrial shop safety, material selection, job planning, benchwork, quality control, and inspection. Processes and techniques are applied in the laboratory environment.
