Pre-Calculus
MTH191
Accelerated study, providing a pre-calculus background through meaningful development of concepts, connections among topics, and application. Topics include polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions with modeling and graphing; analytic trigonometry; trigonometric form of complex numbers; multivariable systems of linear equations; and matrices. Emphasis on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and integration of graphing technology, using the language, symbols, and algorithms of algebra and trigonometry. This accelerated, one-semester course replaces the MTH 181 and MTH 183 combination; may not be taken for credit by students who have successfully completed those courses. (formerly MTH190)
