General education course for non-STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) majors. Topics include linear equations, systems of linear equations, graphing, metric system, cash and trade discounts, markup, markdown, payroll, interest, descriptive statistics, interpretation of data from graphs and tables, depreciation, breakeven analysis, and valuation of inventory. Emphasizes the interconnections of mathematical concepts. Multiple approaches, including technology, are used to emphasize conceptual understanding of business applications.
