Principles, practices, uses, and outcomes of the more commonly employed alternative and complementary medical therapies. Evidence-based criteria is used to evaluate the benefits and the risks of selected therapies. Topics include the integration of alternative and complementary therapies into the conventional Western medical model as well as the resulting ethical, professional, and legal consequences.
