Overview of strategies and practices to ensure a positive first-semester experience and continuing success for students new to Penn College. Lectures, discussions, and activities, in and out of class, clarify the conventions of college culture; explain college policies, procedures, resources, and expectations; provide tools for strengthening academic and critical thinking skills; and provide an informational foundation that promotes understanding and encourages participation in the college community.
