Emphasis on the tasks and duties of each member of the service team including the service consultant, technicians, and parts specialists. Topics include customer relations from the initial contact to the presentation of the invoice to the customer as well as the work environment, legal issues, warranties, campaigns and recalls as well as the job performance techniques for the service team. Study of methods of quantitative analysis, strategic planning, and service personnel management required to manage an automotive business. Introduction to strategic planning relative to different types of facility ownership structures and development of formatted service systems. Quantitative methods to assist in management decision making. Examination of the science behind the operating principles that can change automotive technology as well as how business and society adapt to emerging technology.
