Work-study is a convenient way to help pay for educational expenses. This federal program is based on need and allows you to work on campus while earning credits toward your degree.

Hours

Eligible students may work part-time during fall, spring, and summer semesters. Work hours are arranged around your class schedule.

Payment

An approved minimum wage is paid every two weeks by direct deposit into your checking or savings account. Work-study is not deducted from your eBill because you get paid for the hours that you actually work.

Eligibility

To be considered for a Federal Work-Study position at Penn College:

  1. Complete a FAFSA  for the academic year.
  2. Complete a Work-Study application via myPCT Portal starting the week before Fall or Spring Semester begins. For summer Work-Study, you can apply on the first day of Summer and Fall scheduling.

Notification & Acceptance

If you qualify, you’ll be notified via email. You must accept or reject the award by return email. It is important to list all hours of your availability on the work-study application, as well as your work experience and the major in which you are enrolled.

While we do our best to place students in areas that match their major, this isn't always possible. We typically receive more applications than we have open positions. It is your responsibility to find a position which fits your academic schedule and for adhering to the work schedule that you and your supervisor agree upon.
