Combined with the Pennsylvania Fostering Independence Through Education Tuition Waiver Program—which waives undergraduate degree tuition and fees for youth in foster care— the Lenfest Immensitas Scholars Program puts that right in reach for Philadelphia youth in, or aging out of, foster care by fully covering on-campus housing and dining expenses and leveraging extensive support for participants.
Lenfest Scholars have access to:
- A financial aid advisor
- A first-year advisor
- An academic advisor
- Tutoring
- ...and so much more

"I get a little antsy. Sitting in a classroom all day is not my cup of tea. I like to actually go out and do it to learn about it.
I think Penn College is a wonderful fit for me."

"Campus is pretty diverse. You get used to it pretty quickly. People are friendly. You can make a little family in way because you get to know the people you are working with.
The hands on is really good. You get to see what you created, you get to feel what you created, which helps you learn how to do it."

"I am doing great here. It didn’t take long to get comfortable. There is a lot of support and a lot of resources to help you do your best, and I like that.
I love how hands on it is. It is not just bookwork. You get the opportunity to put what you learn into action. Yes, you have some bookwork and you have some pre-requisites to get you ready. But then you get the hands-on experience already while you’re in college. Not everybody has that. It’s really a great opportunity. "
