Madigan Library Interlibrary staff borrow books, media, and articles from academic, public, and school libraries world-wide for PCT faculty, staff, students, and retirees. Requests are processed through Worldcat.
Requesting Materials
Tipasa is used to submit requests by completing an online form or through links in databases. The status of current requests can be monitored through Tipasa as well as the requesting of renewals.
Receiving Materials
An email will be sent when items are received. Books and media materials can be picked up at the library or, for distance learner, sent via U.S. mail. Articles can be posted to the web, which is accessible using Tipasa, sent as an email attachment, or printed to be picked up at the library.
Copyright Restrictions
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of the specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, vol. 37, sec. 201.14(b) (1995).
