Summer ‘Jump-start Your Future’ offers discount on trio of classes
Friday, May 24, 2024
Students beginning their classes in Fall 2024 at Pennsylvania College of Technology are offered a special discount for taking a trio of in-person courses this summer.
The “Jump-start Your Future” program is giving a 50% discount for students who enroll in developmental math, English and First Year Experience classes during the eight-week Summer 2024 session that runs Mondays through Thursdays, June 11 to Aug. 1, at the college’s main campus in Williamsport.
Students will take math and English in the morning and attend FYE one day a week in the afternoon.
An extra level of support is available through the Michael J. Hudock Sr. Center for Academic Excellence, where optional “student success hours” will be offered in the afternoon; students can work with a peer mentor and get assistance from tutors.
“Jump-start Your Future” is an ideal way to get a head start on coursework, establish a routine, learn to navigate support services, satisfy developmental math requirements and lighten the first-semester course load.
The developmental math courses offered with the “Jump-start Your Future” program are Pre-Algebra (MTH004), Elementary Algebra I (MTH005) and Elementary Algebra II (MTH008). The English course is English Composition I (ENL111), and the FYE class is FYE101.
Students who prefer to take math or English only can still benefit from a 25% discount during the summer semester. The FYE course is only available this summer when taking both math and English.
Additional details and an example schedule are available on the “Jump-start Your Future” site, where all Summer 2024 courses can also be viewed.
