The tempest that began as a fluffy dusting overnight and stubbornly unfurled a Tuesday blanket several inches thick – and with more ushering in the weekend – was met by some with gripes and groans. Despite winter's all-too-frequent appearance as a literary metaphor for adversity and flat-out hardship, however, one needn't dig too deep to uncover the silver lining beneath each mound of snow.
Penn College's participation in "Dream Week," the annual communitywide celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., included a poverty simulation – a role-playing exercise centered around households where those aspirations are deferred.
Penn College aviation students attended an open house on Dec. 14 at Johnson & Johnson's corporate aviation department in Trenton, New Jersey. The event was conducted by Dean B. Hindes and Jacob A. Tinsman, both 2017 alumni of the college's aviation technology major. Adjunct faculty William F. Stepp III and William F. Stepp IV also attended the open house, at which students learned about business aviation and toured the company's hangar and Gulfstream 650 aircraft.

Hearing-impaired since birth, Dawn speaks in "Inclusivity & Universal Design" about her real-life experiences and how they influence and inspire her efforts toward equal opportunities for students at Penn College.

The Gallery at Penn College opens the new year with an ingenious exhibit of kinetic sculptures and automata. “Found: The Sculpture of Randall Cleaver” runs Jan. 16 through March 29, with a reception and gallery talk set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public.
