For the first time, Pennsylvania College of Technology is home to a four-year honor society. Twenty-four Penn College students were recently inducted into Alpha Chi, a national honor society for baccalaureate degree students. Also at the event, the College's chapter of Alpha Chi, the Pennsylvania Xi Chapter, was inaugurated by Robert W. Sledge, president of the Alpha Chi National Council.

State Sen. Jake Corman and Lycoming County District Attorney Thomas Marino will provide keynote addresses at Pennsylvania College of Technology's two commencement exercises on Saturday, May 15. The ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. Corman, a 1990 graduate of the College, will speak in the morning.

Veteran PGA Tour member Greg Twiggs will be the featured player for the 13th annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Foundation. The event, set for Monday, May 10, at the Williamsport Country Club, is a fundraiser supporting scholarships for Penn College students.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's senior legal assistant studies students will be hosting their own series of legal talks at the College. Featuring discussions on current trends and hot topics in the law, the program is part of the bachelor's degree requirement for the students' "capstone" course.

Students studying dental hygiene will have the opportunity to earn their bachelor's degree by taking courses at Harrisburg Area Community College through a new partnership announced by HACC and the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Outstanding achievement awards for vocational-technical students and educators were presented recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Honored at the 14th annual Outstanding Vocational Student/Educator Awards Day were representatives from 36 schools in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.

A full range of fun and educational activities are on tap for the Fifth Annual Hobby Day/Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The North Campus is located on Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield.

A motorcycle ride through scenic countryside will benefit Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Scholarship Fund. The first Scholarship Ride will be held Saturday, April 24. Sponsored by the Penn College Motorsports Association, the ride is open to all motorcycle enthusiasts. Registration will be from 8 to 10 a.m. that day, at Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.
