Construction of a College Services Center near the Maynard Street entrance of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Main Campus in Williamsport is expected to take place within the next five years, according to the Facilities and Site Master Plan 2000-05 presented to the College's Board of Directors.

A direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine valued at $5,500 has been donated to Pennsylvania College of Technology by VFIS Claims Management Inc. of York. The 7.3-liter 1999 engine will be used for instructional purposes in the Automotive Technology/Ford ASSET program, according to Colin W. Williamson, dean of the School of Transportation Technology at Penn College.

Matthew W. Sharpless, a Forest Technology student who received his associate of applied science degree from Pennsylvania College of Technology in May, has won the Bailey/Brunton Award for Outstanding Achievement. For winning the honor, Sharpless, of Huntingdon, receives a Brunton Pocket Transit (with a retail value of $289) and a commemorative plaque.

A scholarship fund for students in any major has been established at Pennsylvania College of Technology by the volunteer faculty, staff and students who coordinate the Scholarship Ride, an annual event open to all motorcycle enthusiasts. All 23 Class of 1999 graduates in the Occupational Therapy Assistant major at Pennsylvania College of Technology who took the national certification exam in March have passed, marking the 11th consecutive time that students in the associate's-degree program registered a 100-percent pass rate.
