Students from the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology will have the opportunity to work with fresh, local ingredients when they prepare food for the public at the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Saturday, Sept. 11. Students in the Catering class taught by Chef Michael J. Ditchfield have participated in the event for several years.

Beginning in September, Penn State Continuing Education at Williamsport and the College of Education will offer several courses developed specifically for educators. Credits from the courses may be used toward the master's program offered through Penn State's College of Education. Program Planning in Adult Education (ADTED) will be held Fridays from 6 to 9:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.
A Lancaster County excavating firm has established a scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology for students in the College's Heavy Construction Equipment, Surveying and Construction Management programs of study. The Brubacher Excavating Inc. Scholarship will be distributed twice a year at Penn College, beginning this fall.
Freshmen in the Introduction to Repair Procedures course offered by the School of Transportation Technology's Collision Repair Program worked on a crash car Friday that will be used by Paramedic students. The students reinstalled doors on the crash car, which is the passenger compartment of a compact car that has been placed on a rotisserie device.
Several students in the Paramedic Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology are volunteering their time, working seven- to 11-hour shifts, at the 2004 Little League World Series in South Williamsport.
The Wildcat Dance Team for 2004-05 has been selected. The co-ed teamprovides school spirit and entertainment at men's home basketball games and performs at many on-campus events throughout the school year. The following students are on the team. Chef Suzann L.Major, assistant professor of food and hospitality management/culinary arts, and Culinary Arts student Christine L. Faherty of Wantage, N.J., attracted a large crowd recently for a presentation of"Tasty Salads and Dressings" to residents in the First-Year Experience Program at Rose Street Apartments. Major is a mentor for the program.
