It recently was brought to Food Services' attention that the processors of salad and sandwich produce products use latex gloves at their plants. Anyone with latex allergies should refrain from eatingsuch products in Penn College dining units. Food Services is working with those companies to correct the problem or is seeking to find alternate products that are latex-free.

On Friday, Sept. 24, Penn College hosted an Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate ConferenceInvitational Tournament at White Deer Golf Course in Allenwood.Penn College extended its win steak to 55, with 10 wins this year. The Penn College community will have two opportunities this week to meet and welcome a group of visitors from Mexico. The College is hosting a group of students from Mexico throughOct. 3. They are from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey campus in Toluca, Mexico. The visit is part of an exchange between "Monterrey Tec" and Penn College.

Twenty-seven students in the Physician Assistant Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology gained real-world experience while they served baseball teams 24 hours a day for 16 days during the recent Little League World Series in South Williamsport. The students, who are juniors and seniors in the program, provided urgent care for players, coaches and their hosts, or "uncles," from Aug.

The seventh season of the award-winning "You're the Chef," a half-hour cooking show produced by Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA Public Television, will premiere Oct. 16 in Pennsylvania. Wendy Mertzeis, a junior from Tionesta, Forest County, has been chosen as the Student Government Association's "Student of the Month" for September. Enrolled in Office Information Technology-Web Design, she is a respected Resident Assistant in Penn College's Rose Street Apartments and member of the Residence Hall Association. She also serves as program coordinator for the Wildcat Events Board.
