Five Pennsylvania College of Technology students pursuing bachelor's degrees in dental hygiene: health policy and administration provided dental care and education to the 105 students attending La Escuelita The Little School in Managua, Nicaragua, during the college's Spring Break.

The John Deere Foundation has provided Pennsylvania College of Technology with another grant of $12,000 to support scholarships for students in the college's welding and fabrication engineering technology bachelor-degree major and welding technology associate-degree major in 2010-11.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its May 2010 graduates. More than 930 students petitioned to graduate at the conclusion of the Spring 2010 semester. Three commencement ceremonies were held May 14-15 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport.

Fourteen Pennsylvania College of Technology students were presented with Penn College Awards during a banquet at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on Thursday evening. The 14th annual ceremony recognized graduating students who have made outstanding contributions to the college and who have risen above their peers as a result of their leadership.

A new exhibit of photographs has opened in the Bookmarks in the Madigan Library, part of the student work completed for the Commercial Photography course (PHO230) taught by Gary R. DiPalma, assistant professor of graphic design, in the Spring 2010 semester. Photographs were taken in four basic subject areas: fashion/portrait, food, product and architecture.

Student members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Collegiate Association for County Correctional Education completed a library-enhancement project at the Northumberland County Prison. The CACCE members worked to collect, organize and redistribute a variety of new, high-quality textbooks that were donated by the faculty, staff and students of Penn College.

On a recent Saturday, members of the Earth Smart organization, along with the Horticulture Club and other Penn College students, cleaned a portion of Lycoming Creek behind the Weis Market on Lycoming Creek Road. The April 10 cleanup was held in conjunction with the Lycoming County Conservation District and the Lycoming Creek Watershed Association.

The most notable Resident Assistants and programs of the 2009-10 academic year have been announced by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Residence Life Office, which also applauded its "...of the Month" honorees for April.

A team of Pennsylvania College of Technology students recently returned from a collegiate engineering challenge the Baja SAE with a strong finish among some of the top engineering universities in North and South America and a "Best Prepared Award" from the contest judges.
