Jamie Steer Freshman Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) was named both the Penn State University Athletic Conference and United States Collegiate Athletic Association’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 27. Steer led the Wildcats in a 2-1 week, averaging 21 points and 12.7 rebounds in the three games with two double-doubles.

Five members of the Penn College Martial Arts Club traveled to West Chester University on Saturday, performing well in a Shotokan Karate Tournament held by the East Coast Collegiate Karate Union. Jeremy P. Hansen, of Williamsport; Jonathan E. Harris, of Danville; Alexander J. Hilton, of Saegertown; Mathew D. Johnson, of Saylorsburg; and Jonel A. Murray, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Pennsylvania College of Technology announced the winners for its annual Food Show, a showcase for final projects in advanced culinary arts and baking and pastry arts courses at the college. Taking the Chef Eugene Mattucci Best of Show Award was a two-tier cake decorated by Carrie A. Williams, a baking and pastry arts student from State College.

The 45 members of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s three sanctioned fraternities attained GPAs higher than the college’s overall student population during the Fall 2012 semester. Individual performance was led by Phi Mu Delta (with a 3.012 GPA), according to the semester academic report compiled by the college's Student Activities Office.

Prior to the start of Saturday’s tri-match in Bardo Gymnasium, the Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team honored its four graduating seniors: Austin Clark, Paul Crutchlow, Logan Gresock and Tyler Myers. The four represent a core group that helped the team to its first Penn State University Athletic Conference Championship in 2012.
