A late-season snowstorm briefly clouded the logistics, but the weather had no lasting effect on the week's Career Fair objective: connect as many Penn College students as possible with the employers who can provide mutually beneficial job opportunities. At four sites over three days, plowing through the challenges of a compromised schedule, Career Services made it happen.

The creative work of two Pennsylvania College of Technology student photographers is being shared via a new website – the Penn College Student Blog. Created by Marc T. Kaylor and Whitnie-Rae Mays, student photographers in College Information and Community Relations, the blog features personal introductions by the students and regular posts showcasing their college experiences.

The first student honorees of the new year – all four of them from Rose Street Commons – have been announced by Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Residence Life Office. Andrew R. Hatch RA of the Month Selected as Resident Assistant of the Month from among his peers was Dauphin Hall's Andrew R. Hatch, a welding technology major from Shillington.

Students from Pennsylvania College of Technology were among the Top 10 finishers in their respective categories during the recent Professional Landscape Network’s Student Career Days competition in Alabama. Horticulture instructor Carl J. Bower Jr. and alumnus Ronald Burger accompanied the group to the 37th annual Career Days, held March 7-10 at Auburn University.

It's not at all unusual for employers to put their best face forward when recruiting students and alumni at Pennsylvania College of Technology's twice-yearly Career Fair. Vendors' booths typically feature knowledgeable personnel, attractive photos, colorful literature and expansive displays – along with an enticing assortment of swag – to spark interest in their respective companies.

It is time for the annual "Bridging the Gap" paper bridge competition, in which contestants are challenged to build a lightweight (yet weight-bearing) bridge solely from construction paper and glue.  Required for students in the Structural Principles architectural technology class, the contest is also open to all students and employees.

"I've lived it, I've been there," automotive alumnus Thomas C. Baloga told a Klump Academic Center audience as he shared advice late last month, returning to campus for the first time since his 1974 graduation from Williamsport Area Community College.

Before students leave campus for a weeklong Spring Break, a variety of helpful offices collaborated to provide tips on safety, sobriety and sanity during their time away from classes.
