As the weather shows signs of change, so do the seasons at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The men’s and women’s basketball teams wrapped things up last week, wrestlers conclude their season this Saturday in a national tournament and, on the same day, the college’s baseball and archery teams are scheduled to step into action for the first time.

Coming off a combined 0-6 week, the regular seasons end this week for Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball and wrestling teams. Men's Basketball With their hopes still alive for a berth in the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs after winning their previous three games, the Wildcats fell at home against Cazenovia College on Saturday, 81-70.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team achieved several milestones over the past week as senior Thomas Ross became the sixth Wildcat to reach the 1,000-point career scoring mark, the team won its third consecutive game for the first time since early in the 2010-11 season and it posted its first nine-win season, also since 2010-11.

Alicia Ross became the career scoring leader for the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team and three Wildcat winter sports teams posted a combined 2-7 record in action last week, with the men’s basketball team going 2-1. This week's Yell(ow) It Out observance, held during a basketball doubleheader in Bardo Gymnasium, once again put a public face on a too-often-private issue. A collaboration of Community and Commuter Assistants, Resident Assistants, Greek Life and student-athletes, the evening focused on the warning signs of suicide and Penn College's ongoing commitment to education and prevention.

In what Alumni Relations and Athletics hope will become a January tradition, members of past Lady Wildcat basketball teams relived their proud Penn College days at a weekend reunion in Bardo Gymnasium. Being an athlete at Pennsylvania College of Technology means more than hitting a ball or scoring a goal: It means giving back to the community and, during the Fall 2016 semester, Wildcats completed 1,648 community service hours. Wildcat athletes volunteered at 10 events, on campus and in the Williamsport community, and helped raise $1,575 for various charitable organizations.

After a week during which the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s teams went a combined 2-3 in road games, they are about to enter a stretch that will see six consecutive home games at Bardo Gymnasium, all in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.
