A thousand students in grades 7-12 across Pennsylvania will learn more about of a variety of vocations when they gather at Pennsylvania College of Technology for "Career Day" on Friday, March 16. During the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., students will have the opportunity to explore diverse career choices ranging from pastry chef to semiconductor technician.
Pennsylvania College of Technology's Business Administration major will have a new concentration this fall − one that blends management and computer-science instruction to prepare students for success in a rewarding career field.
Seventeen students from Pennsylvania College of Technology took first place in their contest categories in the district-level SkillsUSA-VICA competition, held recently at a number of sites, including Penn College. A portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the poignant, traveling tribute to the many lives lost to the disease, will be displayed March 2-3 at the Field House at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Shawn M. Strohman and Jami O. DiMichele were chosen as the 2001 Homecoming King and Queen recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology, raising $1,120 for charity in the process. Students "voted" for Homecoming King and Queen by placing money in the jars of their favorite candidates among 21 nominees. Strohman and DiMichele raised the most funds and were named Homecoming King and Queen.
The family of the late George and Andonetta Girio has established an endowed scholarship to benefit students enrolled in Landscape/Nursery Technology programs or any major in the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

"You're the Chef," Pennsylvania College of Technology's Telly Award-winning cooking series, has been selected by a major distributor of "how-to" programs for satellite delivery to public television stations this winter.
