Commuter Students' Parking Challenges Addressed at Open Forum
Wednesday, February 13, 2013
A Tuesday afternoon forum afforded commuter students an opportunity to share their perspective on parking. Penn College Police Chief Chris E. Miller explained how spaces are designated across campus, how many permits are sold each academic year, the rationale for reserved faculty/staff parking and the allocation of funds from the sale of permits. Also presenting was Katie L. Mackey, coordinator of off-campus living and commuter services, who detailed the challenges voiced by commuters in student surveys and focus groups, as well as some possible solutions. The Commuter Parking Forum, held in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium, included a question-and-answer session for students to share additional ideas. Questions about parking may be sent by email to Student Affairs.
