Shields Penn College construction management students finished second overall and brought home first-place honors in the Project Management category among 24 teams in last week's Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter Construction Management Competition in San Antonio. The group was accompanied by adviser Wayne R. Sheppard, associate professor of construction management, and by alternates Ryan J. Catena, Cranberry Township, and Nathan E. Shields, Dallastown. "The competition was an amazing experience and let us see first hand how our industry works," Kriner said. "Finishing second overall is quite an accomplishment for Penn College, considering the national powerhouse universities we were up against. What this competition reflected was the hard work ethic that we put into it. We clearly have one of the greatest construction management programs in the nation. We definitely proved that we are going to be successful in our industry upon graduation. This was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had in college."
