Wednesday, May 10, 2006

Instructional Technology & Distance Learning announces a new model for faculty interested in using instructional technology. Beginning with the Summer Technology Camp and throughout the summer, ITDL will begin a series of technology-orientated professional-development opportunities.

Faculty interested in using WebCT to supplement their classroom activities will be able to complete a basic group of training activities leading to the development of a WebCT course site. Those who wish to gain the skills necessary to teach distance learning will progress through an extended training series.

Beginning Tuesday, June 6, ITDL will offer a series of Tuesday morning activities designed with novice technology users in mind. This track is intended to establish a solid understanding of essential technology uses and applications.

Beginning Thursday, June 8, ITDL will host a series of Thursday morning activities designed for faculty who would like to enhance their technology skills using multimedia. Thursday staff-development opportunities will include Camtasia Studio, Using Digital Images Effectively and Optimizing PowerPoint for Use Outside the Classroom.

You can register for offerings through Workforce Development & Continuing Education online or by calling ext. 4775. If you have specific questions about the new training model, contact ITDL at ext. 7219 or by e-mail .
