The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission held its Commissioner District Five Legislative Briefing on Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus Wednesday. Joining Timothy D. Schaeffer, executive director of the PFBC, was Penn College President Michael J. Reed; state Rep. Joe Hamm, R-84th; and state Rep. Michael A. Stender Jr., R-108th.

Reed welcomed the gathering, held in the college's Thompson Professional Development Center, and attended the meeting, along with Loni N. Kline, senior vice president for college relations. Following the briefing, Reed, Kline and Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies, offered a campus tour to participants. Among the college labs visited were polymer engineering, dental hygiene, manufacturing, machining and welding.

PFBC's District Five covers Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga and Union counties. The legislative briefing included a 2023 annual report, 2023-24 legislative priorities, regional and regulatory updates, and information on trout season, boating and educational programs.

Also in attendance were representatives from the offices of U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, R-9th; state Sen. Gene Yaw, R-23rd; state Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver, R-27th; and state Rep. Jamie L. Flick, R-83rd.

Departing the Professional Development Center (in background), the tour group strolls the campus mall on a sunny but brisk February afternoon.
