Professional Development
Lifelong Education Center, Rm. 214 · (570) 326-3761, ext. 7912
Professional Development opportunities at Pennsylvania College of Technology exist to develop individual professional growth and help College employees be more effective, productive, and competitive.
As a sign of the College’s commitment to professional development and life-long learning, all full-time professional, clerical, and service staff are required to complete a minimum of eight hours of professional development activities each year. The requirement ensures that every staff member has the time and resources needed to improve their on-the-job effectiveness, which leads to greater job fulfillment and opportunity.
Many of our courses are offered by Penn College’s knowledgeable staff and faculty; others are offered through third-party presenters. When a department indicates a specific training need, our staff work with other departments or outside trainers to answer that need.
Employees can view the complete list of currently available courses and register online through the myPCT Portal.
Employees can also avail themselves of the many professional development and personal enrichment opportunities offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education. Course fees are waived for full-time Penn College employees and their dependent children and spouses (Tuition Waiver required). Certain courses may qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
