Benefits of Giving
Advancing Equipment and Facilities Technology, & enhancing the quality of educational programs
The job market demands that new employees have practical experience as well as a strong base in theory. Penn College students have the advantage of working closely with experienced faculty in state-of-the-art facilities, giving them the skills they need for success. Maintaining those facilities at the forefront of technology, and maintaining the College's low faculty-to-student ratio, requires a great deal of financial resources. Your annual fund contribution allows the College to continue funding programs that hold a leading edge position in education. By maintaining this edge, graduates continue to be successful and shape the workforce. We want others to be able to take advantage of Penn College's state-of-the-art equipment, quality academic programs, excellent instructors, and personal attention.
Dollar-for-dollar match for Federal and State programs, increased opportunities for funding from corporate and foundation programs:
The success of the Penn College Annual Fund is measured not only in total dollars raised, but also in the number of donors participating in each year's campaign. Many Federal and State grant programs require matching funds from the College, and unrestricted contributions to the Annual Fund can help the College to participate in those programs. Alumni donations to the Annual Fund can also help Penn College secure funds from corporations and foundations that award grants based upon alumni participation. That means every contribution to the Annual Fund, no matter the size, is very important.
Your gift is tax deductible:
Tax laws encourage you to donate and to lower your tax bill while helping your favorite nonprofit organization. Your contribution can make a major difference as to who gets your hard-earned dollars — the Internal Revenue Service or your favorite educational institution. Please check with your tax advisor for information on how this can help you. The IRS has granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status to The Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation, Inc.
Need-based and Merit-based Scholarships:
Contributions to the Annual Fund help support scholarship programs that make awards to Penn College students, sometimes based on academic performance, but often based on financial need, enrollment in a particular major, or other criteria. Four out of every five Penn College students receive some type of financial aid, and scholarships are a key resource in helping students to meet their educational costs. In many cases, scholarships actually make the difference between success and failure for a student struggling to afford college.
