Just a few days following the conclusion of the Spring semester, Pennsylvania College of Technology welding faculty returned to their 55,000-square-foot lab to offer training for 10 high school educators from throughout the state.
The teachers spent two days learning about gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and advanced welding technology such as the college’s electron beam welder. According to James N. Colton, assistant professor of welding and co-department head, this marked the third year that Penn College has offered the training.
The educators represented schools from the following counties: Armstrong, Bradford, Butler, Clearfield, Lycoming, Montgomery, Northumberland, Tioga and York.
Miller Electric, a Penn College Corporate Tomorrow Maker, sponsored the training.
