Yes, financial assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and aid will be awarded based on available funds. Please contact summercamps@pct.edu if you are interested in requesting aid to one of our programs.

The Office of Facilities & Events will send you a confirmation email once your registration form and registration fee have been received. Two weeks before the start of your program, you will receive another email welcoming you and filled with information about check-in, meals, what to bring, check-out, and more.

Yes, participants may have one or more roommates. We match participants based on program and academic grade year. If you’re attending with a friend or sibling and want to room together, make sure you both list each other’s name on the registration form, and we will do our best to put you in the same room.

Overnight participants reside exclusively in Rose Street Commons. We have full-time, live-in staff who provide interaction, supervision, and help ensure the health and safety of our participants. Rose Street Commons is air-conditioned and room configurations vary by hall. View floor plans.

Your registration fee includes all meals and an evening snack. Meals take place in various locations on campus, including the Keystone Dining Room, Capitol Eatery, and Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. Dietary restrictions are accommodated.

Penn College is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all of our participants. Nurses, College Police, and/or EMTs are available at all times throughout your stay. Health and safety protocols are in place to notify parents if a participant needs medical attention.

Participants are supervised at all times. During the day, participants are in workshops with faculty and staff. In the evenings, program staff supervises activities and down time. All Penn College faculty and staff working with participants have current background checks and comply fully with the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law.

All participants and parents must read and sign the Overnight Summer Camps Participation Waiver & Rules document. Rules include:

  1. Housing Condition- The staff is aware of the condition of your housing at check-in. If you notice damage when you check-in, please bring it to the attention of the staff so you are not held responsible for damages. Participants will be billed for any new damages that occur. Please make sure your area is clean and all trash is removed when you checkout. Furniture in the residence halls is not to be removed from the halls, nor is it to be moved from one room to another within the hall.
  2. Driving to Penn College- Participants are not allowed to drive or ride in personal vehicles during the dates of their scheduled camp unless they receive specific permission to do so from the Program Director. Participants must turn their car keys in to the Program Director for the duration of the program.
  3. Summer Camp Attendance & Participation- Participants are to remain on campus for the duration of the program unless program activities require otherwise. If a participant needs to leave campus for any reason, the Program Director must receive prior written notice from a parent/guardian and grant specific permission. Participants must attend all workshops, classes, and planned social or recreational activities. Full participation is the only way a participant can gain real value from the program. Participants must abide by rules and guidelines set by the instructors for each academic facility in use.
  4. “Lights Out”- Participants will abide by nightly curfews and “Lights Out” announcements from the Program Director or staff. Participants must be in their OWN room at “Lights Out” and remain there until morning.
  5. Property Protection- Penn College is not liable the for theft, destruction, or loss of money, valuables, or other personal property. Penn College cannot be responsible for personal property left behind by campers after the date of their departure. Please be sure to take a “walk-through” of the apartment before you depart.
  6. Alcohol, Drugs, Firearms, Explosives, and Weapons- Alcohol, drugs, firearms, explosives, and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the complex.
  7. Animals- Keeping, feeding, or harboring any animal is prohibited with the exception of guide and service dogs.
  8. Tobacco & Electronic Cigarette Use- Tobacco and electronic cigarette use is prohibited in on-campus apartments except in designated outside smoking areas.
  9. Visitation- Persons of the opposite sex are not permitted to be together in assigned residence halls or apartments (unless accompanied by a chaperone).
  10. Keys- Keys are issued to each participant at check-in. There is a $50 charge for each key lost or not returned at the end of your stay.

Prior to Summer Camps week, you will receive a welcome email with a detailed list of items you need to bring. Packing lists vary based on the program you are attending. Please contact us if you have questions about what to bring.

Overnight participants need to provide their own:

  • Bed linens/blanket/sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Personal toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)

Additional suggested items include: alarm clock or watch, night light, shower shoes, sunscreen, camera, sunglasses, raincoat or umbrella, backpack, hair dryer/curling iron/flat iron, and snacks/drinks.

All overnight rooms will have a bed, mattress, desk, chair, and trash can available for campers to use. 

Dress is casual and includes what you would be allowed to wear to school. Some programs require certain footwear or long pants. In your program welcome email, we will indicate if you need to bring any special clothing items.

Yes, free time is scheduled every evening and may include extra lab time, outdoor activities, and social events.

Yes, cell phones are permitted but must be used during appropriate times and should remain off or on silent during program workshops. Parents, please note, when participants are in workshops, they will not be able to answer their phones.

Spending money isn’t required. However, participants will have access to FUEL (an on-campus convenience store) in the evenings. FUEL offers snack items, drinks, and limited sundry items. Souvenirs may be purchased from The College Store.

If you cancel prior to the close of registration for your particular program, you are eligible for a 100% refund. No refunds are awarded after June 1 for June programs and July 1 for July programs.

If your program is cancelled, we will help you in selecting another program or refund your entire registration fee.

If there is no availability in your program of choice, we will place your name on a waiting list and reach out if a spot becomes available. Please email summercamps@pct.edu to be placed on a waiting list.
